The Robinson Group undertook a first floor renovation in my townhouse in 2008 that included a new, relocated kitchen, a re-designed dining room, powder room and new flooring and lighting throughout. I used their design and project management services, which together helped to make the renovation the most straightforward, time-saving and professional that I have ever done. The design direction for counter tops, lighting, front door and other elements was exceptional. I could never have sourced the materials and ideas as efficiently. It allowed me to concentrate on my day-to-day life and work with little interruption, as the designer would often meet me in the mornings before work or at the end of the day. Some of the choices were truly inspired, but the designer was also open and helpful in letting me implement my own ideas. The renovation itself was also fairly easy. I chose to live in the house, even though it was suggested that it would be easier and more comfortable if I moved out. But with the efficient clean-up and politeness of the crew, living through the renovation was much easier than I had feared. If I had problems, they immediately fixed them, or tried to. And they managed to finish the renovati on on time. I also found that their cost-accounting was professional and easy to follow.

The Robinson Group designed and completely renovated an entire floor of our house. We cannot imagine a company doing a better job. We had an terrific experience from first to last. The design work was excellent. She knew what we wanted better than we did, and the excellence of the finished product reflected this. We also really wanted to find quality products, and materials, and she worked hard with us to find them. She was very friendly, and approachable, which made the entire process much easier. The project began on time, and finished nearly on time, which in the renovation business is, in our view, an achievement. The project came in on budget. The workers were polite, knew what they were doing, and worked hard. The foreman was excellent ? polite and approachable. The level of craftsmanship was very high. What also made this a very positive experience for us was the reasonable and fair way the company management dealt with the inevitable unexpected events in a project. For example, one of our walls needed more work than anybody thought or budgeted for. The Robinson Group agreed, in the circumstances, to do the additional work at cost. In a long project, this fairness saves the customer a lot of worry and headaches, and makes for a much better experience. In a city where there are so many stories of terrible renovations, we had a nearly ideal experience. We would recommend this company to anybody, and will use them again when the time is right. We believe that they can be competitive for any level of work ? from luxury, to those who want to do something that is inexpensive, but well-made. We really do love our new living room and kitchen. Our kitchen is a cheery family space, and the living room is a place to regain one?s strength at the end of a long day. |
